The opportunity engine is only useful if what it shows is accurate. This page explains how listings are sourced, what our labels mean, and what you should still confirm for yourself. Applicants must confirm final eligibility and deadlines with the official source before acting.
What we mean by verified
A verified listing is one whose core details have been checked against an official or primary source and recorded with a time of checking. Verified means checked against the source, not a guarantee that the programme will not change after the check.
Which sources we prioritise
We prioritise official and primary sources: the funding body, government department or programme operator that runs the opportunity. Secondary aggregators are used only to find opportunities, not as the authority for their details.
How lifecycle states work
- Upcoming: announced but not yet open for applications.
- Open: currently accepting applications, with a countdown to the deadline.
- Closing today: the deadline falls on the current day.
- Closed: the deadline has passed; the record is retained for reference.
What the last-checked time represents
The last-checked time is when the listing was most recently reviewed against its source. It is not the application deadline and it does not mean the programme is unchanged since that time.
Fit scores
Where a fit indication is shown, it is produced by automated processing of the opportunity against structured criteria. It is a prompt for your own judgement, not an eligibility decision, and it is not a claim of individual human review of every record.
Confirm with the official source
Every opportunity carries a link to its official source. Before committing effort, confirm eligibility, scope and the deadline directly with that source. Timezones and closing times can differ from a summary.
